I’ve been so busy this past week that I haven’t been able to keep up with my regular blog reading, so I’m only now seeing this great post about composite photos from a few days ago over at Danny Choo’s place. I especially like the Patlabor composites; the one with Alphonse and the Griffon facing off at Takeshiba Pier near the end of this page is probably my favorite. The imagery sort of reminds me of the weird live action Patlabor short, which is further explained here.
I’m not a serious figure collector, but I almost want to buy some so I can try doing this myself.

The one with Ryoko Asakura in the kitchen is a riot of LOL, because she’s holding the combat knife. Sort of like Mahoro dicing the onion in flight.
I need to edit that bunny girl Kyon Sis figure onto a picture of my bed.
Ooooh! The Patlabor film is to die for!!
I wish they would have made the movie…
After watching Transformers this summer, the first thing I thought of was, “Wow, ANY mecha series can be made into a live action movie now.”
Live action Patlabor, Live action Gundam (pick a series), Live Action 5 Star Stories, Live Action Gurren Lagann…
Okay, maybe I’m going too far with the last two but it’s nice to think about.
Too bad Transformers was utter crap.
Anyways, the pictures made me realize how freaky 2d characters look in 3d and real size. The mecha look quite nice though.

Live action Evangelion… oh wait.
