Less Fanservice, Please

You know, I absolutely adore this image. It’s the perfect desktop.
I really wish there were more Japanese magazines and mooks that solely published images like this one. Megami is fine and all, but the T&A gets old after awhile. I suppose Newtype and Animage typically publish “clean” artwork, but they have a habit of covering it with ridiculous amounts of text. What I wouldn’t give to get my hands on the originals.
I guess I’ll have to hop a flight to Kyoto and go dumpster diving for hard drives. If I remember correctly, those go out on the third Tuesday in August in years when the Emperor’s age is a prime number (assuming above average snowfall). Or was that old tennis shoes?
Words I never again want to see together: “T&A” and “old”. Not a pretty picture.
That said, I’m in agreement. Fan service is wonderful, but in exclusivity it gets tiresome (not to mention unusable in some situations, such as in the office, or when married).
Too much fanservice is too much pandering to the fans, who are more into “T&A” than quality. :V
Actually, I agree. Too much T&A really gets boring after a while. I would prefer more artistically tasteful pics like this Megami poster… it really makes a very good SFW desktop for the Mai x Sayuri fans.
Also, dumpster diving in Kyoto, I’d like to join in that too :P.

On the fanservice thingy: I agree wholeheartedly.
I’m running XP, not Vista. No plans to upgrade, either.

Clean the pic? I just airbrushed out the text in the corner, ran it through a noise filter, cropped/resized, and sharpened. Oh, I guess I flipped it around too… didn’t want my desktop icons clashing with the stuffed animals.
As for the icons, Mampf… you can change pretty much any system icon in XP. It’s just not a feature that’s built in to the OS. Try Icon Phile.
i just hate the fanservice it ruins the anime , i can’t understand japaness people how could they living like that ??? with out anybody trying to talk loud !!
