NEW YEAR ni Youkoso!

I hope everyone’s year has gotten off to a great start. It’s a shame my New Year’s resolution wasn’t, “Work my freakin’ ass off,” because that’s exactly what I’ll be doing for the next month.

That said, I’m glad everyone enjoyed the Year in Review. I almost didn’t go through with it for fear of lack of time, but I wanted to cap off the year on a high note. So, I grabbed my “Ganbatte!” headband, fired up the laptop, and wrote like I was cramming for the Tokyo University entrance exams. At first, I did a pretty good job staying on top of things, but then Christmas rolled around and I got all drunk and stupid on egg nog and candy canes. I actually wrote the final post at a New Year’s party.

But that’s SO last year. What’s in store for Hop Step Jump! this year?

Well, I’ve made some additions to the blogroll, for one. Honestly, in this age of anime blog feed aggregators, blogrolls have become pretty irrelevant. Still, I like to use my blogroll to highlight those blogs I read most often, and since I’ve taken to reading so many new blogs this past year, I figured it was time to update the list.

Other than that… well, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

Oh, and congratulations to Skane for posting the blog’s 2,000th comment earlier today. Kind of fitting, considering he’s one of the most prolific commenters here. Banzai!

Banzai indeed. Thanks for the addition to the blogroll. No pressure or anything, but I still regularly check “betsu ni” for more of those black and white photographs of Japan life. I’d cough here.

    I feel kinda bad that I made the 2000th post not so uplifting. ^^;

Regardless, Happy 2007 to all. Cheers.

When I was doing things like taking the GRE or filling out my college applications, I found that it was a lot easier when I tied on a headband, said ganbatte, and pretended that I was trying to get into Toudai to meet my childhood sweetheart. I also realize that this is pretty high up on the list of nerdier things that I have done.

The Year in Review went down quite well, so thanks.

Blogrolls are very valuable. How else would you fill your feed reader’s subscription list? Naturally, there’s some snipping of linkage in normal posts, but it’s rather slow. Also, it happens when someone else posts a notable link, and not when I wish to enlarge the subscription list.

That said, I don’t have anything much of a blogroll. It’s on the forever TODO list.

By the way, Os… I finally broke down this week and set up a Flickr account. I’m still populating it with photos (several years worth of stuff to comb through), but it should be a lot easier to navigate than my personal blog.

I’ve been too busy lately to even touch my camera, unfortunately.

That’s unfortunate. I’ll still check the RSS feeds regardless and I’ll skim through the flickr account before bed later tonight… oh yeah.

Bah, new years isn’t for another 2 months. Either that, or I should consider joining a religion that celebrates Christmas… that way I can at least have some holiday cheer. I heard Scientology was open, do they celebrate Christmas? /joke

Cheers for including me on your blog roll. I must admit I wasn’t expecting it, but it is a great surprise. I must get around to updating mine too… Keep up with the Mushishi lovin’ :)

I am honored to be on your blog list too ^+^

That said, i am always a staunch rabid fan of this blog, Seaslugs as well as Hopeless’s blog, so ya.

You three are probably the bloggers that made me interested in setting up an anime blog of my own, ahahaha~

New year…Hmm, i can’t wait for Chinese New year to arrive.
