Whatever You Do, Don’t Look Down!

The design for New Tokyo Tower has been finalized, with construction expected to finish by 2011.

That gives CLAMP five years to figure out a way to destroy it.

Seriously, though, at 2,000 feet tall, this thing is going to look ridiculous (ridiculously cool, that is). After all, Sumida Ward isn’t exactly known for tall buildings. It does have the Golden Turd, though.

It’s not yet clear if the tower will be tall enough for San Francisco residents to catch Pretty Cure reruns. Jason’s gonna have to buy a new set of rabbit ears…

… NO, not that kind.

Your image is perfect. It’d be really nifty if it ended up looking like that. I need to watch that movie again.

Same for Voices of a Distant Star.

As for the tower, should be sweet looking. And going for the record eh? I’ll try and see it in person. Might have the money by the time its done. lol.

Well it will look amazingly big… The actual tokyo tower is 1093 ft tall (about 333 mts) and the one in the project i think it will be 450mts of tall.

I like a lot the actual tokyo Tower, its so cool…

They’re marketing it as the tallest freestanding structure in the world, but the Burj Dubai, currently under construction in the UAE, will be a good bit taller. If there’s one thing I’ve learned about Japanese marketing, however (and Japanese consumers, for that matter), it’s that facts are generally meaningless… especially when it comes to being #1 in anything.
