5 Centimeters Per Second Trailer

Just last night, I stumbled upon the old teaser for Makoto Shinkai’s 5 Centimeters Per Second and thought to myself, “Isn’t it about time for a new trailer?”

Yup.

Just like last time, a high definition version is available. You can download it here. Note that the trailer will only be available for a week, so grab it while you can.

I would advise having a towel on hand, by the way… you’ll probably have to clean some drool from your keyboard.

These hi-definition trailers really make me want to get a faster computer. I feel I am missing something.

    Holy…

Well, okay. He certainly seems to like certain scenes, doesn’t he? Train stations, soaring through clouds, snowy streets… we’ve seen these things before. Not that they aren’t awfully damned pretty, mind you!

    Next YEAR? *pouts*

This reminds me that I need to buy Voices and Place Promised at some point.

I wish the HD trailer ran faster on my PC, I had to youtube it. Sure looks amazing, though.

Visually it is amazing, and I think the voice acting was excellent as well. I am disappointed with the song, though.

I am seriously considering buying a new computer and monitor for this movie.

Good thing I now have a flat LCD screen in my possession. Now all I have to do is get the trailer and watch the entire trailer in crispy clear color. ;D

Of course, I have to get the title itself first. :P

    I actually like the song…

It’s a shame that shot of Shinjuku (right when the song kicks in) has text on top of it… I’d love to make that my desktop wallpaper. Guess I’ll just have to wait for the DVD release. Hopefully, the shot will still exist in the final production.

Come to think of it, I’ve photographed Shinjuku from the same exact angle. Ha… I thought it looked familiar.

Maybe it’s just because I read something about Paprika right before I tabbed over to this blog entry, but now that having seen what has driven Kon, to some degree, these few years, I wonder if the same concept is true for Shinkai.

It’s undeniable that all his original stories thus far share a whole lot in common in terms of relationships. Are we going to just see more of the same, so to speak? Is there a killer concept that Shinkai is dying to get funded and to get made?

Nah, he’s probably just channeling a whole lot of angst regarding relationships and reunions. Next thing you know he’ll be having a nervous breakdown halfway through the movie and they end up finishing it with very High Definition crayon drawings. :p

    Incredibly beautiful visuals. I would say “not even real life looks that pretty”, but then that would mean that I would have to step away from the internets and I don’t want to yet. ;_;

I wish there was a way to see this movie in a big movie theater screen, here in USA.

Text? Heck, I took around 24 screenshots from the preview trailer and used them in a rotating background on my laptop, text or no text!

It’s nice to see other Makoto Shinkai fans around, though. :)

Even though I had to youtube it (bummer, few days too late) it was still good I think, about the song, well, I kinda liked it aswell, though it only was a short time I could hear it (what’s the name of the full version anyone?) sounded happy though serious, I cold talk about it more but that’d be rather.. boring?

In any case, I am so going to save up money to get new monitor/LCD.

I was a bit too late for the HD trailer, where can I find it now?

Ha ha, very funny, you can still download the file but it’s something entirely different. Actually it seems to be some “please hold the line” or “we’ll resume the program in a moment” kind of video.

    i love the scenes…….much
