Damn I wish it would snow where I am. You see that’s the problem with Virginia, either it’s too hot or the mountains block all the moisture. Hopefully there will be a couple of good snows soon.
Uzumaki, I’d hate to get stuck out there in a storm. I went out to Breckenridge a couple of weeks ago as a storm was coming in, and decided to go up over Loveland Pass on my way back into Denver. By the time I got to the top, it was near white-out conditions. The funny thing is, the wind wasn’t blowing. It was just snowing that much.
Anyway, I only picked up a little over 5″ this morning here at home. This is the third storm in a couple of weeks, though, so I’ve gotten about 10″ total for the month. Lots of 20″ reports coming in from the foothills just west of town… they’re probably pushing 50″ total for the month.
I’ll sacrifice the sad girls to not get that sort of view. I love snow when it’s falling, but that picture just reminded me that I despise everything else about it.
No snow here yet. T__T I, for who, am excited about snow since it only snows once every two years where I’m originally from, and Massachusetts seems to have snow guaranteed every year. ^_^ I’ll probably end up being the Sad Girl Freezing to Death in Snow.
The Pond actually had measurable amounts of snow two or three weeks ago, the earliest it had happened here in Duckford in recorded history.
I lived in Minnesota for two years… my first snowfall was ‘The Halloween Storm of 1991.’ 27-1/2″ of snow in 12 hours, and 50mph winds the next day. We had white-out conditions without it even snowing that entire afternoon… the wind just picked up snow on the ground and blew it around!
Then a month or so later, we had -110 degree windchills (-40 degrees ambient), during the week where it never got above Zero.
I love Minnesota, but even that’s too frickin’ much for me.
I wonder who enjoys the sad girl in snow thing more: people who like snow or people who don’t like snow or people who doesn’t even know what snow is like
Or maybe they froze to death. I got caught in that last year. Exact same area (Vail Pass), first snowfall.
Seeing pictures like that make me glad I live in the Central Valley of California. :) Although I do love snow… just could never deal it.

All I’ve seen are flakes that won’t even stick. I hope you don’t get any weeklong black-outs there. And good luck with the search for sad girls…

Best of luck with all the snow and sad girls.

And as for the snow count here… it’s getting dangerously close to some here in Ithaca, but none noticeable yet. :P
